La prochaine séance aura lieu le mardi 22 janvier à 14h à l'IHPST. L'intervenant sera Ariel LINDNER (INSERM, Paris Descartes, CRI) : "Phenotypic variability & the extension of ageing notions to prokaryotes".
While the effect of genetic and environmental differences on the phenotypic variability of populations have been explored thoroughly, the nature of the differences between single, isogenic organisms in a constant, homogenous environment remains mostly unknown territory. It is uncertain which of these differences are of a stochastic versus a programmed epigenetic nature. New concepts and technologies spanning from systems and synthetic biology to nanotechnology are now available to address causes and consequences of this phenotypic variability. These may play a role in cellular decision making, life, death and ageing that will be addressed in this talk.
La présentation sera suivie d'un commentaire de Pierre-Alain BRAILLARD (Université Lille 1, CHSE).
